Boothroyd Plate – Friendly Pairs
This competition is open to all club players, you do not have to belong to the BBCBA or the EBU. This is one of the special events run by the county association to encourage the more inexperienced players to participate in county-level Bridge. The entry fee includes a tea and special efforts are made to ensure a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Pat Husband Trophy – Friendly Swiss Pairs
This competition is open to all club players, you do not have to belong to the BBCBA or the EBU. This is one of the special events run by the county association to encourage the more inexperienced players to participate in county-level Bridge. The Swiss format means that after the first round pairs will always be playing against another pair with a similar score to themselves.The entry fee includes a tea and special efforts are made to ensure a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Club Pairs - Waller Bowl
This competition is open to all club players, you do not have to belong to the BBCBA or the EBU. Each club affiliated to the BBCBA may hold heats and around one third of the entrants will progress to the Final. For competitions rules see here.
County Pairs - Rex Avery Trophy
Open only to players whose first allegiance is to B&B. This is the premier pairs competition in the county and is suitable for intermediate players and above. About one third will qualify for the final and a further one third will qualify for the Plate competition (Chris Burley Plate), to be held a the same time and place. Flitch for married couples - Jack McDougall Cup
Spouses of B&B members may play without joining the county or the EBU. Suitable for comparatively inexperienced players. For competitions rules see here.
Swiss Pairs - Denys Jenkins Trophy
Open to all B&B members. The Swiss format means that you will be playing pairs that have a score similar to yours. It is therefore an ideal opportunity for all levels of player to sample a county event. For competitions rules see here.
Mixed Pairs Championship.
Open to all B&B members. Each pair must consist of one male and one female member. More suitable for intermediate players and upwards.
Mens Pairs Championship - Reg Capewell Trophy
Open to all men who are members of B&B. This is an event suitable for intermediate players and upwards.
Ladies Pairs Championship - Davis Cup
Open to all ladies who are members of B&B. This is an event suitable for intermediate players and upwards
