Competitions
Club Competitions
These are either annual or
six-monthly with one or two special events. The competitions are mostly individual
(some based on handicap). Tuesday, Thursday and Friday members have their own
cups to compete for. The Tuesday competitions are run on the 1st and 3rd nights
in a month while 2nd, 4th and 5th (if available) do not count towards the competitions.
There are several special nights where members can qualify for 2nd round in the
county or region (see below). The complete of

Several special competitions tries to integrate members playing on different evenings.
These competitions are listed separately in the
club
program. They winners are usually awarded bottle prizes.
District competitions
The club participates in local district competitions organised by the Chiltern
League. The Chiltern League organises three teams competitions, the teams of 4
league, the teams of 8 league and the Spring Cup as well as a pairs event (Elimination
Pairs). All winners are announced during end-of-season friendly teams of 4 event
usually sometimes in July (the date is announced in the spring). More information

County Leagues
The County Association organises two leagues, one for club teams of 8 and the
other for individual teams of 4 (
Brown
Cup). The Reading Bridge Club participate in the League of 8 (5 teams in 2003-2004
season) and many members compete in the Brown Cup. The details can be found

an annual match between Berks and Bucks which comprises 3 teams of 8 from each
county is held.
County Competitions
Apart from the league the BBCBA organises a number of one day competitions (usually
played on Sunday either in New Windsor Community Association Hall or in South
Bucks Bridge Centre). The
competitions
range from Friendly Pairs suitable for relative novices right up to the prestige

National Competitions
Reading Bridge Club participate in most national competitions. Past and current
